SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Seleukos IV Philopator, 187-175 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 17.10 g, 1 h), 'wreath mint' (Damascus?). Diademed head of Seleukos IV to right; behind to left, wreath. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΣΕΛΕΥΚΟΥ Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow in his right hand and resting his left on grounded bow; in inner left field, ME; to outer right, Φ; in exergue, AN. SC -, cf. 1327.3b (without Φ) and 1328.1-2 (with AΣ and IA, respectively, in exergue). An apparently unpublished variety. About extremely fine.
